Mo-mo Paradise

Mo-mo Paradise brought Tokyo's most meditative dining ritual to Jakarta: one clear broth, real wagyu, and a table stripped of noise. GAEA took a brand with no starter bar, no tempura tower, and no fried add-ons, and made restraint the argument — positioning Japanese purity against a market trained to measure value by volume.
Challenge
When Mo-mo Paradise opened its first Jakarta restaurant in Pantai Indah Kapuk, it faced a simple problem: people didn’t understand what it was. The market was crowded with all-you-can-eat hotpot brands competing on abundance — more toppings, more sauces, more choices, more everything.
Mo-mo Paradise arrived with the opposite philosophy. A focused menu. Carefully selected wagyu. Fresh vegetables. Broths built on Japanese tradition rather than excess. For many first-time guests the experience felt unfamiliar; some saw fewer options and assumed they were getting less. The challenge was not awareness — it was perception. We needed to help Jakarta understand that what looked like restraint was actually craftsmanship.
Approach
Rather than competing within the hotpot category, we repositioned Mo-mo Paradise around Japanese dining culture itself. The story centered on a simple idea: true hospitality is not giving guests endless choices — it is making every choice for them, with care.
Every aspect of the experience became part of that narrative. The wagyu was selected for quality, not quantity. The vegetables were chosen to complement the broth. The recipes followed the standards of the Japanese parent brand. Nothing existed simply to fill a buffet counter. By shifting the conversation from all-you-can-eat to Japanese dining excellence, we gave guests a new way to evaluate value.
The work
Over several years, GAEA led the brand’s marketing and communications across social media, content production, photography, influencer partnerships, public relations, and digital advertising.
Content focused on the details that made the experience different: authentic Japanese wagyu, carefully prepared broths, fresh ingredients, and the culture of service that defines the brand. Instead of chasing mass-market food trends, influencer programs prioritised respected food writers, culinary voices, and lifestyle creators whose audiences valued quality. Every campaign reinforced the same message: Mo-mo Paradise was not trying to be the biggest hotpot experience in Jakarta — it was trying to be the most considered. As new locations opened, the brand story stayed consistent, each outlet inheriting the reputation built by the one before it.

Outcome
What began as a single restaurant in Pantai Indah Kapuk grew into four locations across Jakarta, with expansions into Senopati, Plaza Indonesia, and Mall Kelapa Gading.
More importantly, the brand earned a position few restaurant chains achieve. Guests no longer compared Mo-mo Paradise to other hotpot restaurants by the number of items on offer; they compared other restaurants to Mo-mo Paradise. Through sustained storytelling and disciplined positioning, Mo-mo Paradise became synonymous with quality, authenticity, and Japanese hospitality — one of Jakarta’s most trusted Japanese dining destinations.
